Step-by-Step Guide: Iced V60 Pour Over

Here’s a trick for iced coffee that will create a more refreshing, crisp beverage than cold brew and can even be scaled up to a batch brewer!

You will need: coffee, water, ice, brewer, v60 dripper, v60 filter, carafe, scale

Step 1:
Pre-wet your filter and empty excess water from the carafe.

Step 2:
Place 100 grams of ice in the carafe beneath the brewer when you start brewing. Pour 25 grams of ground coffee into your filter.

Wait 30 seconds and pour 100 grams of water into your filter over the ice.

Step 5:
Pour the final 100 grams of water into your brewer at 1:30 or thereabouts. You are aiming for a 3:30 brew time with much less water, which will create a well balanced concentrate, instantly cooled by the ice below.

Step 6:
Serve immediately over ice or store in the fridge. Enjoy!

Pro Tip: After experimenting with different amounts of ice, less is more! You want just enough to cool the brew to room temperature. We used our Salvador Guzman from Honduras for this recipe, but it translates well to any coffee with slight grind adjustments.

The Recipe:
100g ice
300g H20 (boiling hot)
25g coffee (ground medium 9 / 16)
